Between the Lines Winery

If a fine wine gets better with age, then Yannick and Gregory Wertsch are definitely a winemaking team to watch.  Gregory and Yannick Wertsch, owners of Between the Lines Winery, Niagara-on-the-Lake’s youngest winery, are already producing exceptional wines far beyond their years’.

When Gregory and Yannick opened Between the Lines Winery in 2010 at the ages of 25 and 22 respectively, the two became the youngest winery owners and winemaking team in Niagara-on-the-Lake.  Having spent much of their youth running through the vineyards of their grandparent’s farm in Germany, Gregory and Yannick were always immersed in the wine culture.  Since 1998 the two carefully helped nurtured the new family vineyards in Niagara on the Lake in which they spent their childhood, developing the land and, eventually, their winery into one of the hottest new properties in Niagara-on-the-Lake.

Since the winery’s launch, hard work and dedication has allowed the brothers to expand their operation and increase production, all while giving visitors an outstanding winery experience.  At Between the Lines tours are led by Gregory and Yannick, which gives visitors the opportunity to learn about wine and winemaking directly from the owners.  An experience only a few wineries offer!  During a visit to Between the Lines guests feel the passion the brothers pour into their business. 

With their roots firmly planted in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Gregory and Yannick Wertsch are committed to making award-winning wines that fully express the terroir of Niagara-on-the-Lake and to placing Between the Lines in the heart of the Niagara-on-the-Lake winery map.
